PROCESSING TIME

All orders will be packaged and shipped within 2 business days. (This excludes orders that contain a waitlist item). Please note, our estimated shipping times do not include our processing time.

We cannot guarantee that you will receive your package within the expected time frame as estimated shipping times are used as a guide only.  Shekou Woman can also not be held responsible for any delays, missing, lost or stolen packages sent by our couriers. If there is an issue with your delivery please contact your courier service directly.  If your item hasn't had a tracking update for 12 or more days please email info@shekouwoman.com and we can file an investigation for your parcel. Please note, during busy, sale and promotional times we can often have small delays.

WAITLIST ITEMS

A waitlist item is a product listed on our website that you can purchase before its ready to ship. Once the item becomes available in our warehouse, it will ship out!

Express shipping to most countries is shipped via DHL Express, DHL do not deliver to PO Boxes so please enter in a house / apartment address at checkout. All express shipping orders are shipped from Hong Kong.

RETURNS POLICY

We understand that purchasing items online don’t always go as planned, Shekou Woman offers a store credit when an item is returned. We do not offer refunds. Please read through our returns policy carefully as they are accepted upon your purchase here at Shekou Woman. Returns must be returned to us within 14 days of receiving your item (UPDATE - Due to COVID-19 postage delays we understand that returns will take longer than usual to be delivered to us. Thus we have extended our returns time to 60 days from receiving your item.) If your purchase contained a promotional or free item these items must be included within the return.  Please note: we provide credit notes only, no refunds. Once we receive your return, please allow 2-5 days for your return to be processed and then you will receive an email with the details of your store credit.  Shekou Woman has the final determination in all disputes, as per consumer law.

The item/s must be in original condition and in the original packaging. 
Please be sure to take care when trying on garments, as we do not accept garments that have makeup stains and/or smell of perfume or body odour. 
 

Item/s must not have been worn, washed or altered in any way.  Shekou Woman has the rights to deny any item/s that aren't returned in their original condition or smelling of body odour/perfume and it will be returned to the customer. 

Pierced jewellery, hair accessories, lingerie and swimwear cannot be returned for health and hygiene reasons.

The item/s must be returned to the address provided by Shekou Woman before the credit is processed. Our returns address is stated on our returns form, please make sure to return it to this exact address, if it is shipped to any other address we will be unable to accept the return. The cost of the original freight and return to the warehouse will not be reimbursed or refunded as mentioned under the International Consumer Law. If the package does not reach us safely we will not be able to issue the refund. We recommend sending with a postal service with tracking to avoid any issues.

Please note that differences in colour may occur due to variable factors including:  the background colour, the lighting, and different computer monitors.   Differences in colour not within the controllable range are not a quality issue.

WHY WE CAN'T EXCHANGE FOR SIZE/STYLE

FAULTY ITEMS

If you have received a faulty item please return this to us. All items will be assessed upon the return and deemed faulty by Shekou Woman. Faulty items do not include those that have already been worn.   If your item is deemed faulty we will send you a replacement. You will be sent the same item in the same size and colour that you originally ordered.

CANCELLATION POLICY

No cancellations, changes or refunds can be made once an order has been placed and payment has been processed.

Sustainability Policy 

Our design mission is to make affordable pieces to make you feel gorgeous. We source the most beautiful and sustainable fabrics possible to bring those designs to life quickly, that don't come at a huge cost to you or the planet.

When selecting fabrics, we take into consideration water input, energy input, land use, eco-toxicity, greenhouse gas emissions, human toxicity, availability and price.

Currently nearly 10% of our collection proudly uses TENCEL™  Lyocell fibers.    TENCEL™ Lyocell fibers have gained a commendable reputation for their environmentally responsible closed loop production process, which transforms wood pulp into cellulosic fibers with high resource efficiency and low environmental impact. This solvent-spinning process recycles process water and reuses the solvent at a recovery rate of more than 99%. Consumers can have the assurance that their fashion choices are not contributing to an adverse impact on the environment.

We also aim to make 75% of our garments with natural or recycled  fibers (renewable, plant-based and have potential for circularity) or almost all natural fibers.   By 2025, we aim to make 100% of our garments from natural or recycled fibers.

We are not perfect, but we put sustainability into the core of everything we do.

Here are a few ways we try to be sustainable:

Waitlist Products 

We have implemented waitlist products to our store allowing us to minimise the amount of excess inventory we produce. This will contribute to the reduction of waste produced in the fashion industry each year.

No Mass Production

We don't mass produce.  All of our products are produced in extremely limited production runs.  

E-commerce

On average, e-commerce uses about 30% less energy than traditional retail. 

Sustainable purchasing

We are committed to achieving fair, safe and healthy working conditions throughout our supply chain.  Our factory conditions are of high standards and are continuously monitored - as is the happiness and wellbeing of the team.  All of the workers are paid fairly according to their skill level and role.  We seek to partner with factories who share a common vision.   

Fabric

To keep our supply chain as sustainable as possible, we make sure our fabric suppliers share our sustainability vision and we strive to only use natural fibers.

Packaging

We are working towards our packaging being plastic free! Our garment bags are made from 100% linen and are 100% reusable.   We are currently using standard mailers and protection bags as we are yet to find a perfect solution that doesn't increase shipping costs and is totally durable and waterproof. But we want it to be better. If anybody wants to work with us to develop even more magical packaging solutions, let’s chat.

Ethical Trade Policy

Shekou requires that all suppliers adhere with our code of conduct.

  1. Employment

1.1 There shall be no forced labour.

No supplier shall engage in or support the use of forced or compulsory labour.  No supplier shall retain original identification papers and shall not require personnel to pay 'deposits' to the organisation upon commencing employment.

1.2 There shall not be any use of child labour.

No supplier shall engage in or support the use of child labour under 16 years of age, unless the minimum age for work or mandatory schooling is higher by local law, in which case the higher age will apply. Suppliers must verify the age of all employees and maintain copies of their workers proof of age.

1.3 People under 18 years of age shall not be employed at night or in hazardous conditions.

No supplier shall employ anyone under the age of 18 to work during the night. Hazards shall include, but not be limited to; fire safety, building safety, machine safety, chemical safety, and health safety.

1.4 There is no discrimination

Suppliers shall not discriminate in hiring, training, promotion, termination or retirement based on age, gender, race, caste, national origin, religion, disability, marital status, sexual orientation, union membership or political affiliation

  1. Wages

2.1 All wages shall meet the local minimum standard.

Wages shall be at least sufficient to meet the basic needs of all employees.

2.2 Hours of work per week shall not exceed the maximum hours established by local law

Normal and overtime hours shall not exceed the maximum hours established by local law, and workers are to receive leave entitlement of at least one day off per working week.

2.3 Excessive overtime is prohibited.

Working hours should not exceed 55 hours in any 7 day period.

3.1 A safe and hygienic working environment shall be provided.

All suppliers shell ensure any and all working locations meet all local health and safety laws in their respected industry as well as take precautions to prevent any accident or health accidents.

3.2 Access to bathrooms and clean water shall be provided

Ethical Trade Policy

Shekou requires that all suppliers adhere with our code of conduct.

  1. Employment

1.1 There shall be no forced labour.

No supplier shall engage in or support the use of forced or compulsory labour.  No supplier shall retain original identification papers and shall not require personnel to pay 'deposits' to the organisation upon commencing employment.

1.2 There shall not be any use of child labour.

No supplier shall engage in or support the use of child labour under 16 years of age, unless the minimum age for work or mandatory schooling is higher by local law, in which case the higher age will apply. Suppliers must verify the age of all employees and maintain copies of their workers proof of age.

1.3 People under 18 years of age shall not be employed at night or in hazardous conditions.

No supplier shall employ anyone under the age of 18 to work during the night. Hazards shall include, but not be limited to; fire safety, building safety, machine safety, chemical safety, and health safety.

1.4 There is no discrimination

Suppliers shall not discriminate in hiring, training, promotion, termination or retirement based on age, gender, race, caste, national origin, religion, disability, marital status, sexual orientation, union membership or political affiliation

  1. Wages

2.1 All wages shall meet the local minimum standard.

Wages shall be at least sufficient to meet the basic needs of all employees.

2.2 Hours of work per week shall not exceed the maximum hours established by local law

Normal and overtime hours shall not exceed the maximum hours established by local law, and workers are to receive leave entitlement of at least one day off per working week.

2.3 Excessive overtime is prohibited.

Working hours should not exceed 55 hours in any 7 day period.

3.1 A safe and hygienic working environment shall be provided.

All suppliers shell ensure any and all working locations meet all local health and safety laws in their respected industry as well as take precautions to prevent any accident or health accidents.

3.2 Access to bathrooms and clean water shall be provided

4.1 No harsh or inhumane treatment is allowed

Physical, verbal and sexual abuse or threats are prohibited.

4 Freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining

4.1 All suppliers shall recognise the right of employees to freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining.
